Cisco buys Tandberg for $3 Billion

Tandberg. T-a-n-d-b-e-r-g. Their big in video conferencing. In Sweden. Yes thats 3 billion. 3,000,000,000. No, not 3 million. Yes, for Tandberg.

Cisco moves in mysterious ways. A couple of weeks ago Cisco could have bought Nortel customer base and engineers for a mere $900 million. And move over all those customers to Cisco Callmanager. It decided otherwise.

Today it spends 3 billion on Teleconferencing. Sure its a good market and a good fit for Cisco. But then there are other companies they could have bought for a lot less, or else spend a bit more for a big brand name such as Polycom...

Well, just because Nortel was less than Tandberg it does not mean it was cheap or cheaper..... I am pretty sure Cisco knows what they are doing!
